Devonshire Tea

Where are the scones.....?
Where are the scones.....?

It may not be very Italian, in fact it's not Italian at all!  However, our guests have discovered the pleasure of a Devonshire Tea. There's nothing quite like warm, home-made scones piled high with lashings of our quince & strawberry jam and whipped cream.  Accompanied, of course, by a cup of Twinings English Breakfast tea with milk or lemon.....usually depending on the nationality!

And delicious scones they are too. We visited La Mela Rosa and enjoyed a wonderful Devonshire tea with Pauline and Rob,(who introduced us to the beauty of Amandola and Le Marche),while there we had a good look around their home and accommodation for future reference and it looks fabulous. The bedrooms are divine and all with the best views. The whole Le Marche region is such a change from the frenetic pace of some touristy Italian areas and the village of Amandola is a joy. Everyone is so friendly and helpful, especially to those whose Italian is very limited. Coffee and gelati at Cafe Belli is a treasured memory that we will revisit.
