Last night Rob and I were taken to dinner at Ristorante Hotel Leone, a new hotel in the lovely village of Montelparo. We had drinks otuside on the terrace which came with some warm foccacia straight out of the wood-fired oven. Dinner was served in the vaulted dining room. I had caramelised onion tarts served with small circles of baked lemon riccotta - both delicious - followed by grilled salmon. As we live in a mountain area, the local restaurants don't serve fish - you go to the coast. So, it was great to see the salmon on the menu. I then had the white chocolate "salami" with homemade coffee ice cream.
Madeline and Tim, the owners of Hotel Leone, have clearly spent a lot of time and love (money too no doubt!) on making their restaurant a special place.
