Our four lovely guests from Ramsgate had good fun hunting for truffles with Marcello and his dog, Roy. They had never done it before and were very excited about having the opportunity whilst staying at La Mela Rosa. They were delighted to find 4 small black truffles although the smell of truffle in the car on the way back was a bit too strong for David and Deb's taste!
Pity Marcello couldn't help them find a white truffle as Alberto of Amandola's truffle association, told me that they are worth of €3,000 a kilo this season.....
